Question: First time flight questions? (On spirit airlines)?

( Back )

Answer #1:

I would guess that your backpack might fit if it's not too stuffed. As funny as this sounds, I would actually measure it after packing just to see. I did that when going to Washington D.C., and it saved me because I found the first bag I used was much too big! Otherwise, I would pretty much believe it will fit, but better safe than having to pay. The space under the seat is just a little bit bigger than those domensions you mentioned. Yes, they will seat you randomly for free if you don't reserve them beforehand. Once you get to the airport, go to the Spirit Airlines Ticket Counter. There will be signs everywhere. Here, you will check-in for your flight and receive your boarding pass. You will then go through security (there will be signs everywhere, and airline representatives at the ticket counter will help you). After security, you check your boarding pass for your gate number. Your gate is where you will physically board the plane. There will be signs eveywhere telling you where different gates are. Once at the gate you can sit and wait or look around at the different shops around your gate area. Just be sure to be back at your gate before the listed time on your boarding pass for boarding time. Boarding time usually starts about 20 minutes before the actual departure time. No, you wouldn't be considered unaccompanied minors. I hope this helps!
