Question: How much per year do flight attendants make?

( Back )

Answer #1:

dont worry bout it

Answer #2:

Average is around 40k Depending on senority.

Answer #3:

Unlike most 9 to 5 office workers who earn salaries that are privately negotiated and performance-based, flight attendant salaries are paid an hourly union rate that is based almost entirely on seniority.

For example, all first year flight attendant salaries at a particular airline might be $19 per hour; all sixth year flight attendants, $32 per hour; and all fourteenth year flight attendants, $41 per hour.

Each airline's hourly base rate is unique. Some airlines pay higher hourly rates than others. It all depends on the labor contract. Every 3 to 5 years, each airline negotiates a new labor contract with its flight attendant union. Once compensation is agreed upon, it is fixed for the duration of the contract.

Answer #4:

Hello Hope -

I don't have recent figures, but first year salary with airlines are extremely low -
The worst is with "regional airlines" -
I know the first year salary for their pilots is US$18,000 -
So - for flight attendants must be much lower than that -
And benefits are... near to nothing -
You are better off in trying to join a major air carrier -

Good luck to you -

Answer #5:

Average of USD35000 depending on the flying hours. You get your monthly basic salary plus the per hour pay of your block time. When you get promoted to 1st class then they give you higher basic salary.

Answer #6:

Each airline's hourly rate is different. But, they all start somewhere around $19 (give or take a dollar or two). In addition to the hourly rate, you are also paid an hourly per diem AND bonus pay for any overtime or off days you work. I work for a charter airline, so the pay is a bit different. Research different airlines and different TYPES of airlines (commercial, charter, private, etc..). The pay isn't that great. But, if you like to travel, the perks are unbeatable!
