Well I think the question cut off..
Sounds like he isn't good at farewells, and didn't want it to be awkward when he left, so he tried to break off things a bit.

And I think that he really did like you, because after the facebook message that you sent after all the 'recluse' stages, you saw him and things sort of when back to what they were before, I think he probably read it, didn't know what to say, and felt bad for making you a sort-of booty call, especially since he almost cried.

And the part where you woke him up, he probably just had a major hangover and didn't mean to explode at you like that.
I think that when you know he's back home, you need to contact him and at least apologize for what happened before he left.
And MAYBE tell him how you really feel. MAYBE. I don't know if that's the greatest idea right yet, but it's a thought.
