Question: Future of manned space flight in America?

We could ask Bill Gates and Warren Buffet for loans to keep things going. They could follow the path of Paul Allen (he is buying a lot of radio telescopes to do SETI). They could help us get back to Moon, maybe even to Mars.
I heard a good talk on radio today about firing many fuel cylinders from a hydrogen cannon here on Earth, putting "gas stations" into low orbit for use by spacecraft that could travel much farther, with less cost.

With the Shuttle program ending this year and plans to cut funding for the constellation program, what is the future of manned space flight in America. Dim

Will Privatization of NASA be successful? I doubt it - but it's not in the plans
Will Americans have to rely on other countries like Russia, China and the Europe Union to get astronauts into space? Might well be so

My fear is that if NASA is turned to the private sector then the goals and intensives of space science will change from the science to making a profit. Most likely
